A few days ago, on Saturday, December 14th, I was invited to take some festive photos for a local church's Christmas fair. I am so happy I got to take part in this and to see the lovely people and volunteers who gave up their weekend to support their church. St Mary's is a diverse and friendly Anglican community in the heart of Watford. The main building has been used as a place of Christian worship for over 800 years, making it one of the oldest in Watford. The church organizes regular social networking events as well. Their toddler playgroup is very popular among mums in the area, and I am so lucky to have taken both of my kids there. I've made amazing friends for life. Yay! I am so thrilled to finally share some shots from my latest marketing photoshoot for a local private music school. It was a whole day brand session with a variety of images - creative photographs of the students, headshots of the school owner and the teachers, behind-the-scenes and inside-the-lessons shots. A fabulous experience for me as a photographer and great results for their marketing campaigns, social platforms and website. The school owner is a woman on fire - she is a loving mum to 3, a talented cellist and pianist, a composer and a business owner. Recent brand shoot 📷 Dharma Therapy with Susthama Marian Kim Susthama works as a psychotherapist/ counselor and supervisor in her private practice based in Watford, UK. She is also the Head of the Amida Buddhist Order, which is a small Pure Land Buddhist group in the UK. She qualified as a psychotherapist/counsellor in Buddhist Psychology in 2011 and is currently undergoing a Supervision qualification at the London School of Psychodrama, however, she has been supervising psychotherapists who trained in Buddhist Psychology for the past five years. On a personal note, Susthama is a ball of sunshine. She possesses incredible calmness and gentleness. She is a loving mum to two wonderful children. We did her photoshoot in her comfortable private practice in Watford and created some new imagery for her website. Our goal was to create some warm, inviting photographs full of light and peace that properly display her vision and personality and complement her business. This summer I had the privilege and greatest joy to create some portraits of my grandparents. My family. I used to spend every summer holiday with them, picking up strawberries, sleeping in late, climbing trees, counting stars at night and chasing fireflies. And every winter we would sit together by the old rusty stove, watching grandma knitting and reading stories. Now, I visit them once a year and I cannot help but feel like a child again. I noticed a few new followers recently and I would like to post something about myself so we can get to know each other. First of all, thank you for following me and if we are yet to have a session together - I am beyond excited for the beautiful ordinary art we can create. So.. 🍃 I am Millie, a mom of 2 cheeky little Ks. I call them Ks because they are Kristian (8) and Kallie (2) and they are truly two magical keys to my heart. Sometimes, quite often, they are 2 keys to a bomb detonator. 🍃 I am originally from Bulgaria - the land of the bluest skies and happy childhoods. And I miss it dearly between each holiday. UK has been my home for 12 years now and I find new things to love here every day. 🍃 I’ve spent many years in the Early Years sector - working with precious little people, cooking mud pies, reading story after story. I’ve always had a deep connection with young children and that helps me in my photography. We just click off and really have lots of laughs. Sorry, mums and dads, not the best singing voice but points for trying. 🍃 Photography has always been a hobby of mine until my daughter was born almost 3 years ago and I decided to dive deeper. So deep that it actually became more than profession. It became a way of life. It’s bringing me so much joy and peace of mind, calmness, inspiration and love. I see moments differently now, I see beauty in chaos, light when it’s dark (quite literally), raw energy in everyday life. 🍃 I like coffee. And cake. And Christmas. And storytelling. And all of Disney movies. I cry every time at the end of Cars (🤷🏻‍♀️). I love dancing and blowing bubbles with my children. Mountains and forests. Long walks. Autumn walks. And long kisses. Dusty bookshelves and great novels. I am not a very sporty person but my oldest is a great young athlete and a super fast runner. And, as a proper mum, I shed a tear at every running competition.
